musings – philippians 3

so our small group has been reading through philippians for over a month now… and for the past two weeks we have been diving into chapter 3.  Philippians 3 has to be one of my favorite chapters of the Bible.  “I count it all as loss compared to the greatness of knowing Christ… I want to know Christ and the power of his resurrection and the fellowship of sharing in his sufferings, becoming like him in his death…”  Paul wanted to be just like Jesus.  So much so, that he wanted to know him in the most intimate way… to experience the power of his resurrection, to experience his suffering, and to ultimately experience him in his death.  Those are very powerful words.   Why? because they show the utter devotion he had to his Lord and savior.  It wasn’t just a “Jesus is my homeboy” type of feeling… but a true, deep longing for intimate connection with the God of the universe.  a willingness to put my wants and needs aside in order to experience and know Jesus better.

  1. I don’t believe between church, lunch, osm setup, MERGE, and basketball… that I had a spare second to even think about my blog… and THAT, my friend… is PROGRESS!
